Evangelical Center Bayreuth | Rooms & Events
The Evangelical Center Bayreuth is a versatile event location for conferences, celebrations, and cultural formats in the heart of the city center. The address Richard-Wagner-Straße 24 is located in the upper pedestrian zone, just a few minutes' walk from the city library RW21, the Hofgarten, and the New Palace. The building combines a quiet location in the courtyard with central accessibility and a modern, open character. For organizers, it is particularly attractive that different room sizes can be flexibly combined here and that the center works for everything from small meetings to large audience events. Depending on the seating arrangement, events for about 15 to 543 people are possible. This makes the building suitable for lectures, readings, training sessions, celebrations, balls, anniversaries, concerts, and trade fairs alike. ([ez-bayreuth.de](https://www.ez-bayreuth.de/))
Central Location in the Heart of Bayreuth
The location is one of the strongest reasons why the Evangelical Center Bayreuth is repeatedly chosen in event planning. The building is located right in the urban center yet in the courtyard, allowing for easy access and tranquility to work well together. Those welcoming guests from Bayreuth or the surrounding area benefit from the fact that the location is easily reachable on foot and is directly integrated into an environment of cafés, restaurants, attractions, and museums. For conferences, this means short distances during breaks, for celebrations a friendly city atmosphere, and for cultural events an environment that remains attractive even outside of the actual event. Particularly, the short walk to the Hofgarten and the New Palace is pleasant for guests as it offers a chance for a stroll between two program points. The center positions itself not as an isolated hall but as part of a vibrant city core. This combination of a city center location, tranquility, and a manageable, well-planned structure makes the building interesting for organizers who want clear orientation for their visitors. The character as a church-supported institution is also part of this identity: The building belongs to the Evangelical-Lutheran Community of Bayreuth, thus combining organizational reliability with an open event concept. Those looking for a location that offers not just rooms but also a credible, serious environment will find a good mix here. The surroundings further support the stay as visitors can explore the city space before or after the appointment and are not solely dependent on the building itself. ([ez-bayreuth.de](https://www.ez-bayreuth.de/))
Rooms, Capacity, and Technical Equipment
With its rooms, the Evangelical Center Bayreuth is significantly more flexible than many classic conference houses in the city center. Available are the Large Hall, the Small Hall on the upper floor, the Large Seminar Room, and the Small Seminar Room. The Large Hall is the most important room in the building: flooded with light, 331 square meters in size, with an additional 63 square meters of gallery and usable for up to 543 people depending on the seating arrangement. A stage of 50 square meters, speaker's podium, microphone system, large screen, projector with HDMI connection, Wi-Fi, dimmable lighting, basic stage lighting, and streaming system create an equipment setup that is suitable for both in-person events and hybrid formats. The room can be darkened and has its own entrance as well as a foyer and the winter garden as additional areas. The Small Hall on the 1st floor is significantly more intimate with 194 square meters and up to 200 seats, but also has its own reception area, a kitchen counter, Wi-Fi, projector, and microphone system. The Large Seminar Room with 63 square meters and around 40 seats, flat-screen TV, microphone system, and Wi-Fi is suitable for training sessions and lectures. The Small Seminar Room with 33 square meters and about 22 seats is ideal for meetings and small groups. All rooms have their own character: the Large Hall appears open due to the winter garden, the Small Hall carries historical charm, the Large Seminar Room overlooks the green courtyard, and the Small Seminar Room presents itself modern and compact. This diversity allows for event formats to be clearly separated by participant numbers and mood. Those planning a trade fair need different spaces than a seminar, a reading, or an evening celebration. At the Evangelical Center, one does not have to improvise for this but can specifically coordinate space, technology, and seating. ([ez-bayreuth.de](https://www.ez-bayreuth.de/die-raeume/grosser-saal))
Conferences, Celebrations, Concerts, and Trade Fairs at the Evangelical Center
The room structure at the Evangelical Center Bayreuth is consistently oriented towards different events. The official website explicitly mentions conferences, lectures, readings, training sessions, celebrations, balls, anniversaries, concerts, and trade fairs. This is important because the location is not tailored to a single purpose but considers multiple usage scenarios from the beginning. For organizers, this means that a professional conference, a musical evening, a club celebration, or a trade fair can take place in the same building without the atmosphere feeling forced. The Large Hall is particularly suitable for concerts and lecture formats due to its large stage and the possibility of darkening. The sunny winter garden with café atmosphere is often used for buffets and creates a friendly transition between program and exchange during celebrations or receptions. The fountain courtyard and the spacious foyer invite greetings and conversations. The seminar rooms are also designed so that they are not just sterile functional rooms but create a more pleasant learning and working atmosphere through views and access to the courtyard. This is a real advantage, especially during multi-hour conferences or training sessions, as the location does not tire but offers differentiated spaces for focus, breaks, and encounters. Additionally, the basic technical equipment is designed so that classic in-person events are just as possible as formats with transmission or presentation technology. Therefore, those planning an event do not have to start from scratch but can rely on a building that is already prepared for many typical event types. The combination of a church-influenced sponsor, open usage, and urban location makes the building equally interesting for clubs, institutions, educational providers, and private organizers. ([ez-bayreuth.de](https://www.ez-bayreuth.de/))
Access, Parking, and Barrier-Free Use
In terms of access, the Evangelical Center Bayreuth scores with a city center location that offers practical solutions despite its central position. On the access page, the parking lot in Münzgasse and the parking garage in Badstraße are mentioned as nearby options, so guests do not have to search long. Additionally, there are parking spaces in the courtyard for temporary loading and unloading, which is particularly helpful for suppliers, technology, decoration, or catering. For cyclists, there are also racks for securely locking bicycles. This is a pleasant addition for inner-city accessibility since not all visitors arrive by car. The barrier-free access is also clearly described: The ground floor is spatially barrier-free and has a wheelchair-accessible restroom, while the upper floor is not barrier-free. The Small Hall on the 1st floor is therefore only partially suitable for people with limited mobility, while the other rooms on the ground floor are more easily accessible. For practical planning, this means that organizers should select rooms according to the target audience and transparently communicate which access will be used in invitations. The central location and the nearby parking structure are an advantage for many guests as they make arrival uncomplicated. Those expecting visitors from outside can combine the central city location well with clear directions for access. This creates no unnecessary hurdles but a planable arrival with short distances, clear parking options, and a realistic assessment of accessibility. ([ez-bayreuth.de](https://www.ez-bayreuth.de/anfahrt))
Winter Garden, Foyer, and Courtyard as Special Advantages
Among the special strengths of the Evangelical Center are the winter garden, the foyers, and the courtyard. These intermediate spaces often make the difference between a functional location and a place with atmosphere. The winter garden on the ground floor is described on the website as sunny and with café atmosphere and is a popular area for buffets due to its view of the green area. The spacious foyer with 68 square meters in the Large Hall and another reception area on the upper floor provide enough space for greetings, breaks, and informal conversations. The fountain courtyard further enhances this experience as it can be used as a quiet, protected indoor area. The seminar rooms also overlook and have access to the green courtyard in the seminar house, bringing even smaller formats into a more pleasant environment. This is valuable for the event everyday life: guests experience not just a hall but several zones that fit together meaningfully. For example, when planning a conference, breaks can be organized in the foyer or winter garden while the actual hall remains reserved for content. During a celebration, the reception can be cleanly separated from the table situation or the stage program. In a concert, the stage in the large hall is complemented by the additional areas that facilitate arrival, wardrobe, breaks, and exchange. The combination of a quiet courtyard and central city location ensures that the building never feels hectic despite its urban embedding. This is precisely where its charm lies: it is not a loud event complex but a location with structure, light, and well-utilizable transitions. ([ez-bayreuth.de](https://www.ez-bayreuth.de/die-raeume/grosser-saal))
Booking, Contact, and Practical Tips
For booking and organization, the Evangelical Center offers clear, easily usable processes. The administration is reachable Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 11:30 and by appointment beyond that. Outside of these times, contact can be made via email or the online booking calendar can be used. Additionally, there is a caretaker on call during events. This organizational structure is valuable for planners as it creates short paths for inquiries, technical agreements, and appointment coordination. The event calendar on the website is also helpful when checking available time slots or already scheduled formats. In practice, this means: those planning a lecture, training session, reading, celebration, or trade fair should coordinate room size, technical requirements, seating, and access questions early. The building offers the appropriate framework for this, but the suitability varies significantly by room: the Large Hall is ideal for very large audience situations, the Small Hall is more suitable for compact groups, and the seminar rooms are particularly intended for focused formats. The official event location page of Bayreuth Tourism lists the building with 540 people as an event location, thus confirming its relevance in the city's event offerings. So, if you are looking for a location that is serious, flexible, and central, you will find a reliable option at the Evangelical Center Bayreuth with clear contact paths, well-described room logic, and an environment that guests are happy to accept. We were there for the premiere of "Goldfinger." We've known the Bayreuth a cappella group "Sixpack" for 15 years and it was outstanding again. The location was nice and conveniently located in downtown Bayreuth.
