The City Pool Bayreuth is one of those pools that not only serves as a sports facility but also tells a piece of city history. Located in the Kolpingstraße, it combines classic indoor pool vibes with sauna, steam bath, fitness offerings, and classes, so the visit can look very different depending on the day's condition: sometimes as a quiet swimming session, other times as a family outing, training session, or relaxed sauna visit. The official website describes the facility as a historic indoor pool and quickly makes it clear why it has a fixed place in the daily lives of many Bayreuth residents: Here you will find a 25-meter pool, a children's pool, a whirlpool, a small swimming hall, two textile saunas, and a steam bath. At the same time, the pool remains practical and down-to-earth, with clear opening hours, understandable admission prices, and good accessibility. So, if you are looking for City Pool Bayreuth opening hours, prices, sauna, classes, or parking options, you will find a pool that surprisingly well combines sports, relaxation, and everyday usability. Opening Hours of the City Pool Bayreuth
Regarding the opening hours, the City Pool Bayreuth relies on a clear seasonal model, which is important for planning. In the winter season, the swimming hall is open from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The pool is closed on Mondays. The small swimming hall opens only on weekends during the winter season, specifically Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On public holidays, additional rules apply: the swimming hall is open only on Epiphany, Easter Monday, German Unity Day, All Saints' Day, and Boxing Day. Shrove Tuesday, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve are closed. In the summer season, the times shift: then the swimming hall is open from Tuesday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:30 PM, while Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays remain closed. Additionally, the pool points out that due to the annual technical check, there may be seasonal adjustments, and the dates should therefore be checked regularly. This is not a disadvantage but a sign that the pool is operated with technical care and its maintenance windows are communicated transparently. Therefore, anyone who wants to plan their visit safely should not only look at the search term opening hours today but always consider the respective season. Particularly practical: the last admission is one hour before closing, and the pools must be vacated at least 15 minutes before the end of the opening hours. This leaves enough time to end the stay relaxed and exit the pool without haste. ([stadtwerke-bayreuth.de](https://www.stadtwerke-bayreuth.de/baeder-wellness/stadtbad-bayreuth/oeffnungszeiten))
Prices, Admission, and Voucher Alternatives
The prices at the City Pool Bayreuth also remain pleasantly straightforward. Since January 1, 2026, the single ticket for adults costs 7.00 euros, reduced 3.60 euros. Those who swim regularly can use the 10-visit card, which costs 63.00 euros for adults and 32.40 euros reduced. As a flexible solution, the pool also offers a value card with a value of 100 euros, sold for 87.50 euros and transferable. For people who expect a credit or benefit system when looking for a City Pool Bayreuth voucher, this card is the obvious alternative, as it is well-suited for repeat visits and creates price advantages. Additionally, there are clear discounts: children and teenagers before their 18th birthday, students, volunteers, and people with disabilities with a degree of disability of 50 percent or more receive reduced admission. Children before their 6th birthday have free admission when accompanied by a supervising adult. The pricing structure thus shows quite well that the City Pool does not rely on complicated tariff systems but on a simple and fair structure. Particularly pleasant for guests is also the parking regulation: those arriving by car can park for three hours free of charge in the Oberfrankenhalle/Sportpark parking garage as a bath guest if the parking ticket is presented at the City Pool. For an inner-city indoor pool, this is a strong argument, as it makes the overall costs of the visit significantly more predictable. Overall, the City Pool does not appear luxurious in price but deliberately reasonable: family-friendly, regularly usable, and without unnecessary admission barriers. ([stadtwerke-bayreuth.de](https://www.stadtwerke-bayreuth.de/baeder-wellness/stadtbad-bayreuth/preise))
Sauna, Steam Bath, and Water Temperatures
The heart of the City Pool Bayreuth for all those who first think of relaxation is the combination of sauna, steam bath, and pleasantly tempered pools. In the swimming hall, there is a 25-meter pool with massage jets, a waterfall, and floor jets, a whirlpool, a children's pool, and a steam bath available. Additionally, there are two textile saunas, whose use is already included in the admission price. This is exactly what makes the pool so interesting for many guests: you can swim and then directly switch to the wellness area without having to purchase a separate sauna ticket. The temperature zones are deliberately designed to be different. The sanarium operates at 60 degrees and is considered a mild, more humid heat offering with aroma scents. The Finnish sauna reaches 90 degrees, provides dry hot air, and is supplemented with an automatic infusion every full hour. The steam bath is at 44 degrees, has 100 percent humidity, and is also enriched with aroma scents. This gradation is a real advantage for many visitors because it allows them to experience the sauna not as an all-or-nothing experience but as a finely dosed feel-good offering. The water temperatures are clearly indicated: the swimmer's pool is at 30 degrees, the whirlpool at 33.5 degrees, the children's splash pool at 33 degrees, and the teaching pool at 32.5 degrees. This shows that the City Pool not only offers sports lanes but also works well for families, beginners, warm water fans, and relaxed sauna-goers. The combination of movement and warmth characterizes the facility: a few laps in the morning, then to the sauna, maybe later a short stay in the whirlpool or a quiet break on the lounge chair. So, if you are looking for City Pool Bayreuth sauna or City Pool Bayreuth temperature, you will find not just a mere wellness claim but a clearly described, well-coordinated offering. ([stadtwerke-bayreuth.de](https://www.stadtwerke-bayreuth.de/baeder-wellness/stadtbad-bayreuth/uebersicht))
Aquafitness, Swimming Courses, and Fitness Studio
The City Pool Bayreuth is not only a place for swimming but also a training location. This is particularly visible in the collaboration with INJOY Gym & Swim, the partner for aquafitness, aquajogging, and fitness studio in the pool. According to the official description, it is the only fitness studio in Bayreuth where you can swim and train at the same time. For members, access to the swimming hall and textile sauna during regular opening hours is even free, making the concept particularly attractive. The course structure is also broad: the current times for aquafitness and aquajogging are published via the INJOY course schedule, and additionally, the Water Rescue Bayreuth, DLRG Bayreuth, and the Delfish swimming school offer swimming courses. This way, the pool covers several target groups, from children in their first swimming course to adults who want to train gently on their joints. There are also special offerings for pregnant women and babies, conducted in the small swimming hall by the Protestant Family Education Center. So, if you are looking for City Pool Bayreuth courses or City Pool Bayreuth swimming courses, you will find more than just individual dates here: the pool is integrated into a whole network of course providers. It is also noteworthy that the awarding of swimming badges is usually possible in consultation with the supervising staff directly on site. This is practical for families and clubs because it keeps the paths and organization short. Overall, this creates a profile that goes beyond the classic indoor pool visit: the City Pool Bayreuth is a place for movement, learning progress, rehabilitation-related water activities in a broader sense, and regular fitness routines. The combination of swimming, courses, and sauna makes it interesting for people who are not only looking for leisure but a sustainable movement offering in the city. Directions, Parking, and Photos of the City Pool
For directions, the City Pool Bayreuth scores with a central location that is conveniently direct for many visitors. The address is Kolpingstraße 7, 95444 Bayreuth. For telephone inquiries, the official site provides the number 0921 600-382, along with the email address stadtbad@stadtwerke-bayreuth.de. Those arriving by car can park for three hours free of charge in the Oberfrankenhalle/Sportpark parking garage, as long as the parking ticket is presented to the City Pool team. Additionally, there are municipal parking spaces directly in front of and next to the City Pool, which are, however, subject to charges. The bus connections are also good: the nearby stops include the main train station and Luitpoldplatz. This makes it easy to organize visits for both short spontaneous stays and longer training or sauna visits. If you are looking for City Pool Bayreuth opening hours today, you should also consider the directions, as the seasonal times and the last admission can play a role in the return trip. For all those who want to get an impression in advance, the official pages are also helpful: on the overview page and the directions page, images of the pool and a site plan are embedded. This is particularly practical for guests who prefer to visually check where the entrance, surroundings, and pool area are located before they set off. Especially for a location with an indoor pool, sauna, and course operation, this visual impression helps make the first visit more relaxed. Photos, site plan, and contact details are therefore not just nice extras but real orientation aids. Therefore, anyone visiting the City Pool Bayreuth for the first time should use the brief mix of address, parking garage, bus stops, and image material to plan the route stress-free. History, Reviews, and Why the City Pool is So Popular
The fact that the City Pool Bayreuth is perceived today as a historic indoor pool has good reasons. The official history begins in 1929 when the Bayreuth residents could first swim there. At that time, hygiene, relaxation, and the possibility of regularly washing and swimming were not in the foreground, as running hot water in many apartments was still not a given. During World War II, a bomb hit the boiler house, which is why the pool remained closed until 1949. After that, it quickly regained significance and became known as a swimming stronghold; even one of the first swimming competitions in the young Federal Republic took place here, with foreign guests participating. In the mid-1990s, the pool was renovated and reopened in 1996 in an updated form. Since then, it has combined the charm of the 1920s with a versatile offering that has been carefully developed over the years. This mixture of history and present creates the appeal: the City Pool is not an anonymous new building but a pool with character, memory, and personality. The feedback from many guests also reflects a clear picture: cleanliness, the generous sense of space, fair prices, and the sauna are praised; individual visitors merely note that the pool can quickly become crowded during peak times. This interplay of tradition, utility, and honest everyday proximity explains why the City Pool Bayreuth is more than just an ordinary indoor pool for so many people. It is a place for swimming, wellness, training, and memories at the same time. Those looking for photos will find several images and a site plan on the official pages; those reading reviews will quickly recognize that the facility is especially appreciated for its good value for money and pleasant atmosphere. Exactly therein lies the strength of the City Pool: it does not aim to be spectacular but reliable, warm-hearted, and practical.
Stadtbad in Bayreuth is an outstanding facility that thoroughly deserves a 5-star rating. The first thing you'll notice is how clean and spacious it is, creating a comfortable environment for all visitors. The large pool, smartly divided for children and adults, is a fantastic feature, ensuring a fun and safe experience for everyone. Additionally, the two massage pools provide a perfect spot for relaxation. The sauna and fog room offerings are excellent, adding to the overall wellness experience. What's impressive is the thoughtful layout of showers, which are abundant and conveniently placed. But perhaps the most remarkable aspect is the affordability – just 5€ for a visit, or 3€ if you're a student, which is incredible value for such a high-quality facility. I highly recommend Stadtbad Bayreuth for a refreshing and relaxing experience, whether you're a local resident or a visitor to the area.

I especially love the sauna here. They have two cabins, one with a lower and the other with the higher temperature. There's another steam bath room as well. In between the sauna sessions, you can sit on the inclinable chairs outside the sauna cabins while staring at the arched ceiling, which is illuminated with colorful lights. I don't come for swimming, but this option is also available. Now and then they turn on the waterfall so that water falls down into the swimming pool on the shallow end. They also have a bubbling warm bath.

The pool is pretty small and gets crowded, but the price is really fair. Also sauna included in the fee, so overall I’d recommend it.
