Therme Obernsees | Sauna Opening Hours & Prices
The Therme Obernsees in Mistelgau-Obernsees is one of the most versatile wellness addresses in the Franconian Switzerland, as it combines family swimming, sauna paradise, wellness, and gastronomy in one place. Those looking for a mix of thermal water, slides, quiet retreats, and genuine sauna experiences will find here not only a classic thermal bath but a facility with clearly recognizable experience and relaxation expertise. On the homepage, the Therme describes itself as an oasis of tranquility with a bathing world, sauna paradise, culinary offerings, and events, while the bathing world page specifies the combination of fun and relaxation with a 90-meter tire slide, Thermelino water world, and healing water from the Obernsees spring. The sauna paradise, in turn, relies on several temperature zones, infusions, indoor and outdoor areas, as well as special formats such as baby sauna and themed rituals. This range makes the Therme Obernsees equally interesting for families, sauna fans, and day visitors. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/))
Sauna Opening Hours, Admission, and Seasonal Times
Anyone wishing to visit the Therme Obernsees should always check the opening hours on the day of their visit, as the official website points out seasonal adjustments. Important for planning is especially the note that on holidays the same opening hours as on Sundays apply and that admission to the bathing world is possible until one hour before closing time, while sauna access is granted until 1.5 hours before closing time. Additionally, it is clearly communicated on the opening hours page that the bathing world and sauna paradise close one hour earlier from May to September. This is particularly relevant for guests planning a long thermal or sauna day and who do not want to arrive too close to closing time. The website also shows that current times are dynamically integrated; therefore, the official page before the visit is the most reliable source. For the search query regarding sauna opening hours, the practical message is therefore simple: not only remember the desired date but best check the current daily schedule right before departure. This way, disappointments can be avoided if seasonal times, holiday regulations, or operational adjustments change. Especially with a thermal bath that combines swimming, sauna, and events, this flexibility is normal and sensible. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/infos/oeffnungszeiten/?utm_source=openai))
The structure of the facility also speaks for forward planning. The Therme Obernsees combines indoor and outdoor areas, various sweating rooms, and a family swimming area with its own rules. For example, those wanting to experience the meditation pool or a specific infusion should not decide spontaneously at the entrance but rather time their stay accordingly. The official bathing world page also mentions regular water aerobics on Thursdays at 10:30 and 11:30 AM, which can be another fixed point for active visitors. Those using the Therme more as a place of relaxation benefit from the clear time windows of the sauna and from the fact that the facility does not rely on a rigid uniform program but on changing usage rhythms between family operation, infusion times, and relaxation. For this reason, the keyword sauna opening hours is not just a search phrase but a real planning factor for the visit. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/badewelt/))
Sauna Prices, Family Rates, and Vouchers
The price page of the Therme Obernsees is very clearly structured and helps to budget the visit appropriately. For the bathing world, time and day tickets are offered, including 2 hours, 3 hours, day tickets, and evening rates for adults, children, the 60plus rate, and discounted rates. Particularly interesting for families is the family bonus: For each paying adult, one child up to 15 years old receives free admission to the bathing world, provided the duration of the stay remains the same. For the sauna, an additional fee of 9.50 euros is added, which is calculated on top of the regular bathing tariff. Children may use the sauna with guardians only from the age of 3, and a one-time surcharge applies for each child upon sauna entry. This pricing logic makes it clear that the Therme Obernsees is designed for both short visits and longer day stays. Therefore, those specifically looking for sauna prices will not only receive a flat entry fee but a tariff system that takes into account different lengths of stay and target groups. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/infos/preise/?utm_source=openai))
There are also interesting hints for bargain hunters and regular guests. The official page mentions a summer discount from May 1 to September 30: During this time, the principle is that you pay for 3 hours in the bathing world and can stay all day, with the sauna surcharge still possible. Additionally, according to the price overview, there are discounts for certain groups, such as the 60plus rate or reductions for students, pupils, and people with disabilities upon presentation of proof. The homepage also directly refers to vouchers and the shop, so the keyword sauna voucher is not just an idea for searching but is also reflected in its own web presence. Therefore, those planning a gift, a wellness day, or a short vacation in the Franconian Switzerland will find suitable entries there. The combination of clear tariffs, summer regulations, family bonuses, and voucher options makes the Therme Obernsees price transparent and versatile. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/infos/preise/?utm_source=openai))
For longer visits, it is also worthwhile to look at the usage logic. The sauna requires at least time for several phases: showering, heat phase, cooling down, and rest phase. This means that a purely short visit hardly exhausts the special features of the sauna paradise. Those who really want to relax should therefore not only know the entrance price but also consider the time value of a stay. At this point, the Therme Obernsees appears very well thought out, as it adapts the pricing model to the actual usage rhythm. For search queries such as sauna prices or sauna vouchers, not only the amount is relevant but also the experience one gets for it: a complete thermal or sauna day with water world, relaxation areas, infusions, and gastronomy. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/saunaparadies/))
Sauna Paradise, Infusions, and Special Experiences
The sauna paradise of the Therme Obernsees is clearly more than a single sweating room. The official description mentions, among other things, Tepidarium, Jura stone bath, Finnish sauna, herbal sanarium, and aromatic steam bath in the indoor area. Additionally, there is a baby sauna offer on Fridays from 11:30 AM, the Franconian beer and enjoyment sauna, the Kelo log cabin sauna, the stone sauna, and the fire sauna. In the outdoor area, sauna outdoor pools, picturesque views, relaxation zones, a salt stone relaxation room, a Kneipp canyon, and a bubbling pool entice. Particularly attractive for many visitors is the range of temperatures: from milder zones like Tepidarium and herbal sanarium to very hot areas with 95 degrees. The Therme consciously focuses on different heat and relaxation sensations, so both beginners and experienced sauna guests can find suitable areas. Therefore, those looking for a high-quality sauna paradise will find in Obernsees a combination of variety, connection to nature, and clear structure. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/saunaparadies/))
Another plus is the changing infusions. The official site mentions salt infusion, Wenik infusion, meditation infusion, and happy-end infusion with a small surprise. The current infusion schedule on the website also shows that the Therme relies on a tightly scheduled daily program, in which various sweating rooms are played in succession. This makes the stay dynamic and varied, rather than monotonous. Therefore, those coming specifically for infusions will find a real program here and not just a quiet sauna landscape. For the search query Therme Obernsees sauna or Therme Obernsees infusion schedule, this is exactly the core: There are not only rooms but a curated sauna experience with ritual impressions, temperature gradations, and special formats. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/saunaparadies/))
Particularly striking is that the Therme combines regional flair with wellness in its special formats. The beer tub ritual, for example, combines Franconian beer culture with a roughly one-hour arrangement for up to eight people, including beer and snacks, but excluding sauna admission. Additionally, there are event formats such as sauna in the dark or gourmet weekends, where culinary and sauna-oriented themes are brought together. Therefore, those looking for a women's sauna will not be served with a constant, permanently designated standard area on the website; rather, baby sauna, changing infusions, and themed events are prominently featured. For a targeted special action, it is therefore advisable to check the program on the day. This keeps the Therme Obernsees open to different target groups without reducing itself to a single event label. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/bierzuber/?utm_source=openai))
The quality of the sauna area is also underscored by the practical guidance on the website. There, the Therme explains that one should bring at least three hours for a sauna visit and only needs a few things: sauna towels, flip-flops, soap, and shampoo, as well as a bathrobe. The website also clearly describes the four phases of sauna use, from showering to the heat phase to cooling down and resting. This is not only service but a sign that the sauna paradise is understood as an experience with rules and rhythm. For this reason, the Therme Obernsees appears serious for experienced sauna guests and accessible for beginners. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/saunaparadies/))
Bathing World, Slide, and Family Area
The bathing world of the Therme Obernsees is clearly aimed at families, movement enthusiasts, and guests who want to switch between relaxation and action. According to the official site, there is an experience pool with massage jets and waterfalls, a meditation pool with 33-degree warm thermal water and soft music, as well as the Thermelino water world with a fun area, small slide, and water cannons for children. The highlight for many remains the 90-meter tire experience slide, which works with light effects and promises a classic thrill. Additionally, the site mentions a 25-meter swimming and attraction pool, of which 15 meters are outdoors, as well as cascades with waterfall and grotto. This is attractive for families because here not only a single pool is offered but a complete mix of water fun, relaxation, and outdoor area. The bathing world is therefore not just a simple addition to the sauna area but an independent attraction with a strong experience character. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/badewelt/))
Particularly helpful for parents is the note on the meditation pool. According to the official site, children under 14 years are generally not allowed access there. This creates a clear separation between the lively family world and the quiet relaxation area. At the same time, there are enough other offerings for children and teenagers, such as the Thermelino water world, the small slide, and the seasonally usable wide slide. The site also emphasizes that the bathing world has completed construction work and that a new, larger entrance area is currently being worked on. This shows that the facility is continuously being developed. For search queries like Therme Obernsees bath or Therme Obernsees photos, it is particularly important that the website provides many current images and illustrative descriptions that convey a good impression of the family character. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/badewelt/))
The thermal water itself is also a unique selling point. The website describes it as water from the Obernsees spring, which, according to a report from the Fresenius Institute from 1998, can be classified as healing water due to its mineral composition. Among other things, sodium, calcium, chloride, potassium, bicarbonate, and sulfate are mentioned. For guests who are looking for not only fun but also beneficial water quality, this is a strong argument. The thermal water thus combines health-perceived quality with the experience factor of the bathing world. Especially in conjunction with water aerobics, outdoor pools, and slides, a very rounded offering is created that appeals to both children and adults. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/badewelt/))
Another plus is the active morning with free water aerobics every Thursday at 10:30 and 11:30 AM, except during holidays and on public holidays. Regular swimming and aqua courses are also offered, for which registration is required. The bathing world is thus not only a leisure area but also an active space. Therefore, those looking for a mix of training, family fun, and relaxed thermal atmosphere will find a very balanced overall package in Obernsees. This also explains why the facility plays a solid role among families, sauna guests, and day trippers. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/badewelt/))
Access, Parking, and Motorhome Parking Space
The official address of the Therme Obernsees is An der Therme 1, 95490 Mistelgau. For access and contact, the website refers to phone, email, and a contact form, allowing visitors to clarify their questions directly with the facility. Regarding parking, the Therme provides a very well-documented motorhome parking space. This is open year-round, includes 40 exclusively designated spaces for motorhomes, and is described as an ADAC comfort site. Additionally, modern supply and disposal stations, pre-booking options, check-in from 2 PM, and check-out until 12 PM are available. For many guests who want to combine a wellness stay with an overnight stay, this is a real advantage. Thus, the Therme positions itself not only as a day trip destination but also as a location for longer stays in the Franconian Switzerland. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/angebote/wohnmobilstellplatz/))
The price structure of the parking space is also transparent. According to the official site, the space costs 18 euros per night, fresh water and electricity are charged separately, dogs are welcome for a daily fee, and washing machines and dryers are available for a fee. Important for orientation on-site is also the clear regulation regarding chip return for the supply house at the interim cash register. This shows that the Therme relies on functional processes and clear procedures for the parking space. For search queries like Therme Obernsees parking or Therme Obernsees access, the motorhome area is the concretely verifiable information, while for ordinary car parking spaces, the official contact page remains the best entry point. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/angebote/wohnmobilstellplatz/))
For guests who want to arrive quietly and close to nature, the location is also suitable. The website describes the parking space as quietly located in the heart of the Franconian Switzerland. This is more than just marketing, as the combination of regional landscape, proximity to the thermal baths, and relaxation factor fits well with the overall picture of the facility. Therefore, those arriving by motorhome have a combination of wellness, supply, and overnight stay directly at the destination with the Therme Obernsees. This quickly turns a thermal visit into a short vacation. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/angebote/wohnmobilstellplatz/))
For the classic day guest, the most important recommendation is: check the address, opening hours, and any seasonal changes before the trip, and use the contact page directly for questions. The Therme Obernsees is easily accessible, but as with many thermal baths, a brief pre-check is advisable to optimally coordinate visits with sauna, bathing world, or event program. Especially since the facility combines several types of use, careful planning is more sensible than a spontaneous standard visit. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/infos/oeffnungszeiten/?utm_source=openai))
Events, Photos, and Practical Tips for the Visit
The Therme Obernsees presents itself on the website not only as a bathing and sauna world but also as an event location. The homepage highlights events, beer garden atmosphere, and gourmet actions. In the event section, formats such as Thermelino children's club afternoon, infusion special sauna in the dark, gourmet weekends with salad variations, hot potato, or 20s, as well as regional experience formats like the beer tub ritual can be found. This breadth shows that the facility works with changing occasions and thus continually creates new reasons to visit. Therefore, those searching for Therme Obernsees photos, Therme Obernsees today, or programs will find not only images on the website but also numerous references to seasonal actions and special experience components. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/))
For the practical visit, it is also helpful that the website clearly names the basic equipment for sauna use. Sauna towels, flip-flops, soap, and shampoo, as well as a bathrobe, are recommended. The site also explains that a sauna visit requires at least three hours and that heat, cooling, and rest phases should be taken seriously. This is particularly useful for guests who are coming for the first time and do not know how long a proper sauna day lasts. Therefore, those using the Therme Obernsees as a day destination should not plan too tightly but allow enough space for relaxation, infusions, outdoor areas, and gastronomy. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/saunaparadies/))
The homepage also makes it clear that the Therme values current information. There, the shop, vouchers, prices, times, jobs, events, and other service points are directly linked. This significantly facilitates orientation and shows that the facility does not rely on its popularity but offers digital assistance to visitors. Especially for search queries like Therme Obernsees tickets or Therme Obernsees sauna voucher, this is relevant: Those who want to book, gift, or compare quickly will be directed to the right places on the official website. Thus, the Therme is not only well-structured on-site but also user-friendly online. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/))
In summary, the Therme Obernsees is a destination for all those who want to combine wellness with family, slides, sauna culture, and regional character. The bathing world provides water experience and movement, the sauna paradise offers true tranquility and variety, the price structure remains comprehensible, and the motorhome parking space makes longer stays possible. Those who check the opening hours in advance, choose suitable tariffs, and keep an eye on the program can turn a simple thermal visit into a very rounded experience. This mixture of reliability, variety, and Franconian atmosphere characterizes the Therme Obernsees. ([therme-obernsees.de](https://www.therme-obernsees.de/erleben-geniessen/badewelt/))

We are Americans on holiday here in Bavaria and were recommended to come here. This is a large, clean, multi-level pool, that is well maintained and warm. Looks like they are expanding it. Two pools and the big slide was not open. Plenty for the children to do and they had a lot of fun. However, the old lady at the front desk with red hair is one of the rudest people I've ever met. My German is not good and she was mean and nasty. This business might want to hire someone who is nice to everyone, not just the German people. She rolled her eyes, yelled at us when we didn't understand and would not return a smile. It's hard enough to navigate a foreign country without being treated like garbage because you do not speak the language. My son was so upset he cried in the changing room. Shame on her. IT'S NOT HARD TO BE NICE. I hope she has the day she deserves.

Nice place, mostly for families with children. The sauna area is very nice! The entrance and dressing area is somewhat chaotic and hard to navigate through and uncomfortable. This could probably at some point be rearranged and improved. For that I would rate it with less stars, but it is clean and it does appear that they try hard to do their best. They do have good hairdryers! I probably would not return for the swimming unless I had small children then it would be perfect, but I would love to return to enjoy the sauna again!

Massage was divine. Wow that lady deserves a big raise. Sauna was quite alright, outside area is superb. Location heavenly. Unintuitive changing rooms and overall how the place is built. 6pm and 8pm is when their bars closed due to shortness of staff, which is way too early. Also the food could be healthier; shakes, smoothies and spritz instead of fries, canned soups, doughnuts and sodas. Pool area is under big construction; only 3 pools left, one a supposed meditation pool that said "no kids under 14" - ofc there were kids in there. Pretty sure I still paid the full day pass price despite all inconveniences. Should be 5 stars once construction work is finished (end of 2023 is advertised atm).

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ, TRANSLATE IF YOU HAVE TO! This is difficult for us as a family to give one star, but if you are travelling with someone in your group/a family member has an allergy, it is imperative you read this and understand before making a journey here. PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE! as their allergy list isn't taken seriously/understood or requires training. Only by pure luck and quick reaction in our case we dealt with the allergic reaction from our daughter early enough. We ordered pommes mayo for our children. Due to the seriousness of the allergy - we absolutely have to check food everywhere we go, as our daughter has a severe milk allergy, which has ended with her in hospital a few times due to previous catering services letting us down. After asking the ingredients twice, even asking are they absolutely sure the pommes isn't with milk, we were informed that there is definitely no milk in the pommes gewürz. We are extremely concerned with the situation, for other visitors. Despite claiming there was no milk in an ingredient, I understand mistakes happen, in our case this could cost a life. But I am super angry with the management. Their lackadaisical approach and handling of the situation has left us a little flabbergasted. Maybe it's foolish incompetence to realise how serious this is, or until somebody dies this will then become 'an issue'. They haven't contacted us to let us know how this happened, or how they can guarantee this won't happen in the future. Therefore I am pleading anybody who has an allergy to avoid the swimming facilities until they can be responsible to take catering and the responsibility of life-threatening allergies seriously. Please note, the lack of communication/understanding wasn't a factor, my wife is German, and succinctly explained the allergy situation to the employee beforehand. If anyone has an allergy or has had a situation like this, they have been warned, and I want to make sure people stay safe because in our situation we were very lucky to handle it quickly enough with the correct medicine. Other than that, fantastic pool and facilities. This is unfortunately typical German service standards, so I am not expecting to hear from the management, but this has been noted with them and they said they would get back to us. Let's hope they don't have a further issue like this in the future, because this is now noted for all to see.
