Terzo Brass brings festive brass sounds to Bayreuth

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the brass quintet Terzo Brass will perform the 235th Academic Concert at the University of Protestant Church Music in Bayreuth. In the Great Organ Hall, a concert evening will begin at 7:30 PM, combining the sonic precision of a quintet with the unique acoustics of a church music university space.

Brilliant sound between trumpet and bass trombone

Terzo Brass represents the characteristic instrumentation of a classical brass quintet: two trumpets, horn, trombone, and bass trombone. In this formation, bright highs, warm middle voices, and a solid foundation come together. The careful synchronization of the voices creates a transparent ensemble sound that ranges from festive brilliance to finely graduated, chamber music passages.

An ensemble from the Bayreuth region

The quintet was formed in connection with the opening of the Bayreuth State Garden Show and has since been present at concerts and events in the region. The ensemble includes musicians from Upper Franconia and northern Upper Palatinate, including Andreas Hein, Pankraz Schrenker, Eckhard Bosch, Klaus Hammer, and Karl Hufnagel. The members combine concert practice, music education work, and church music experience.

Live atmosphere in the Great Organ Hall

The Great Organ Hall of the University of Protestant Church Music provides the brass players with an environment where natural room resonance and direct stage performance interact particularly effectively. Every entry gains contour, every chord develops resonance. This creates a concentrated concert experience with clear articulation, powerful soundscapes, and a vibrant audience atmosphere.

Academic concert with musical expertise

The University of Protestant Church Music Bayreuth is a state-recognized church university that combines education, research, and concert practice. The 235th Academic Concert fits into this tradition: Terzo Brass presents the expressive possibilities of brass instruments with professional sound culture, precise interplay, and confident musical conducting within the ensemble.

Conclusion: An evening for lovers of powerful brass music

The 235th Academic Concert promises a concentrated evening full of brilliance, depth, and chamber music tension. Anyone wishing to experience the immediate sound of a brass quintet in special acoustics should witness Terzo Brass live in Bayreuth on October 27, 2026.
