Boxgalopp brings wild Folk music to Bärenreuth
On November 13, 2026, the Great Hall in KuKuK in Bärenreuth will transform into a meeting point for Franconian sound traditions, international melodies, and lively audience atmosphere. Boxgalopp stands for Folk music with X: original, modern, wild, and emotional – music to listen to, sing along with, and dance to.
Franconian roots, worldwide sound colors
Boxgalopp picks up melodies from Franconia and other regions of the world and combines them into an independent musical cosmos. Accordion, clarinet, violin, bagpipe, harp, and bass merge into a vibrant orchestration that carries traditional dances as well as surprising musical twists.
Between dance floor and concert stage
The stage performance of Boxgalopp thrives on direct communication, rhythmic energy, and great joy in playing. Sometimes the sound drives forward with strong bass and a bouncing beat, while at other times intimate moments full of warmth emerge. The music opens the space for shared experiences: young and old find their own access to this concert experience.
A band with its own musical signature
For many years, Boxgalopp has connected Franconian folk music with influences from international traditions and modern music styles. The formation around David Saam was present at the Antistadl Festival, released the Franconian children's song CD Hobbädihö in 2018, and has appeared on radio and television shows such as the WDR and MDR formats as well as the Bavarian Wirtshausmusikanten.
The repertoire includes traditional melodies, their own arrangements, and pieces with cheeky stories from Franconia. The group does not just play folk music; it develops an open, contemporary sound language from traditions, dialect, and international folk.
Live atmosphere in KuKuK
In the Great Hall of KuKuK, the immediate acoustics of handmade instruments meet the proximity to the audience. Clarinet lines, accordion sounds, and string colors stand out clearly while rhythmic figures keep the evening in motion. This creates a concert atmosphere that invites both concentrated listening and spontaneous participation.
Conclusion: Folk music that breaks boundaries
If you want to experience traditional music with energy, humor, and surprising connections, Boxgalopp offers a special concert evening. On November 13, 2026, in Bärenreuth, it’s time to open your ears, get your feet moving, and be there live when Franconia and the world come together musically.
