Sunday Morning Orchestra brings Pop Noir and Indie Jazz to Bayreuth
On November 10, 2026, the Sunday Morning Orchestra will perform at the Kunst- und Kulturhaus Neuneinhalb in Bayreuth. Starting at 8:00 PM, the intimate sound world of the Nuremberg duo meets the special live atmosphere of the cultural center: Indie Jazz, Pop Noir, and warm double bass lines combine for an evening concert full of room for nuances.
A small ensemble with great sound range
The Sunday Morning Orchestra consists of Maleen Schulz-Kallenbach and Oliver Zoglauer. The singer and guitarist, along with the double bassist, develop a sound from voice, strings, and reduced harmonies that goes far beyond the classic duo setup. The formation describes itself as a modern, unpretentious jazz-blues-pop project from the metropolitan region of Nuremberg.
Pop Noir meets jazzy-groovy movement
The music thrives on melodic openness, fine interplay, and a warm, direct stage performance. Between softly floating passages, blue notes and groovy moments, a sound emerges that blends Indie Pop, Garage Jazz, and Pop Noir. The orchestration remains deliberately transparent: every voice, every bass line, and every rhythmic shift gets its own space.
From the regional scene to bigger stages
The Sunday Morning Orchestra was awarded the POP! Prize Red White by the district of Middle Franconia in 2024. The band regularly plays in gardens, courtyards, cafes, cultural pubs, and at festivals. Their debut album was released in December 2022 on CD and vinyl; new jazzy-groovy songs are also part of their current artistic profile.
An evening concert for attentive ears
At Neuneinhalb, the audience can expect a focused concert experience, where atmosphere shapes the evening rather than volume. The acoustics of the voice, the warm resonance body of the double bass, and the finely set harmonies create an immediate closeness between the stage and the audience.
Conclusion: Bayreuth experiences an unusual duo
The Sunday Morning Orchestra shows how big a small orchestra can sound. Those who appreciate Indie Jazz, Pop Noir, and handcrafted live music with character will experience a special evening at the Kunst- und Kulturhaus Neuneinhalb. Admission is free – a good reason to arrive early and discover this extraordinary concert live.
