Udo Jürgens’ timeless songs live in Warmensteinach

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Markus Engelstaedter and Bernd Meyer will present a special concert evening at Treffpunkt zum Hans in Warmensteinach featuring the unforgettable songs of Udo Jürgens. Singing and piano will be at the center of an intimate tribute program dedicated to the life’s work of one of the most significant German-speaking entertainers.

A voice for great melodies

Markus Engelstaedter interprets the songs of Udo Jürgens with a versatile voice and great stage presence. The singer is described as a vocal chameleon in the music scene. A multifaceted homage emerges between chanson, schlager, pop, and sophisticated entertainment, honoring well-known melodies as well as selected pieces from the composer's earlier works.

Piano and singing with special closeness

At the piano, Bernd Meyer accompanies the evening with intense and emotional piano playing. The reduced instrumentation creates space for nuances: Each chord carries the melody, each vocal phrase receives weight. The intimate orchestration of one voice and one piano allows the lyrics, harmonies, and characteristic crescendos of the songs to have an immediate impact.

Udo Jürgens classics with goosebump moments

The program includes great crowd favorites such as 17 Years, Blond Hair, An Honorable House, Again and Again the Sun Rises, and I Have Never Been to New York. Also, Merci, Chérie, the winning song of the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson, as well as Thank You for the Flowers are part of the songs connected to Udo Jürgens’ musical legacy.

A musical life's work

Udo Jürgens composed more than 1,000 songs, released over 50 musical albums, and sold over 105 million records during his more than sixty-year career. Engelstaedter and Meyer approach this extensive repertoire with respect, personal interpretation, and small anecdotes from the artist's life.
