Wagner Weekend in Bayreuth: Four Lectures at Haus Wahnfried

Wagner Weekend at Haus Wahnfried: Richard Wagner's Life and Work in Focus

An intense day for Wagner enthusiasts, music lovers, and curious visitors to Bayreuth: At the Wagner Weekend on November 15, 2026, Dr. Sven Friedrich will speak at the Richard Wagner Museum about Richard Wagner's life and work.

Four Lectures, One Great Composer

In the hall of Haus Wahnfried, four lectures lasting 90 minutes each are scheduled. Dr. Sven Friedrich, head of the Richard Wagner Museum, will provide key insights into the biography, artistic thinking, and historical impact of the composer.

Music History in an Authentic Atmosphere

Haus Wahnfried provides the suitable backdrop for the event: Richard Wagner's former residence today houses the Richard Wagner Museum with a national archive and research center. The historical setting combines cultural-historical depth with immediate proximity to Wagner's Bayreuth life world.

Between Opera, Orchestration, and Historical Impact

Wagner's work shaped music history through wide-ranging orchestration, dramatic motifs, and an intense stage effect that continues to this day. The lectures skillfully contextualize the life and work of the composer and open perspectives on his significance for opera, festival tradition, and musical modernity.

A Concert Experience Without a Concert Hall

Even without an orchestra and singers, a special live atmosphere is created: In the historic hall, concentrated knowledge delivery, audience mood, and the cultural resonance space of Bayreuth come together. The event is aimed at Wagner connoisseurs as well as visitors seeking an informed introduction to the topic.

Conclusion: Experience Wagner Intensively in Bayreuth

The Wagner Weekend promises a concentrated look at the life and work of Richard Wagner – in a place that is directly connected to his history.
