CANCELLED: Imagination on Paper – Creative Writing for Children in Bayreuth
This event on Friday, October 9, 2026, is cancelled. Originally, an afternoon of creative writing for children aged 8 to 10 was planned at the Evangelical Family Education Center Bayreuth.
Joyfully Developing Own Stories
The focus was on creating shorter and longer texts of their own. Various prompts were intended to inspire the children to write: a story from the perspective of a sneaker or a raindrop, a narrative based on self-taken mobile phone photos, or a poem about favorite music. Putting oneself in the shoes of a movie character was also planned as a creative option.
Child-Friendly Learning Fun with Imagination
Creative writing strengthens expressive abilities, imagination, and joy in language. The children would have developed their own ideas, invented characters, and articulated thoughts in words. The family experience combines learning fun with curiosity, self-confidence, and shared time in a protected learning environment.
Framework and Practical Information
The event was advertised for children aged 6 and up but was particularly aimed at the age group of 8 to 10 years. Dr. Claudia Ortner-Buchberger was listed as the course leader. Writing utensils and a beverage were to be brought along. Pre-registration was required.
Conclusion
The planned family offering would have provided children with a playful approach to stories, language, and their own creativity. Since the event has been cancelled, families are encouraged to keep an eye on the offerings of the Family Education Center Bayreuth.
