Halloween in Autumn: Creative Spooky Fun for Children in Bayreuth

Spooky Fun with Wood, Imagination and Children's Laughter

When ghosts, pumpkins, and witch hats float through the autumn air, the FabLab Bayreuth turns into a creative Halloween workshop. At this family event, children and teenagers aged 11 to 14 will build their own spooky mobile out of wood and take their individual artwork home.

Sawing, Sanding, and Designing

At the beginning, a wooden piece will form the basis for the mobile. Participants will saw and sand by themselves before designing their personal Halloween figures. Whether it's a funny ghost, glowing pumpkin, little Frankenstein, or mysterious witch hat: each piece will have its own character.

Age-Appropriate Fun in the Open Workshop

The workshop combines creative design with practical learning experience. Children and teenagers will discover the safe handling of tools, learn basic woodworking techniques, and find out how strings, figures, and natural materials come together to form a balanced mobile. No prior knowledge is required; materials will be provided.

Creativity, Concentration, and Self-Confidence

Working independently enhances fine motor skills, concentration, and spatial thinking. At the same time, the young participants will experience how their own idea gradually becomes a finished piece of work. This child-friendly development from idea to outcome creates success experiences and makes technology immediately comprehensible.

Important Information for Families

The workshop takes place in the open high-tech workshop of Upper Franconia and is limited to a maximum of eight participants. The event lasts three hours. Recommended attire is clothing that can get dirty. Materials are included in the price; enjoyment in creating is part of the basic equipment.

Conclusion: A Self-Made Halloween Experience

This family experience combines children's laughter, hands-on experimentation, and creative Halloween atmosphere. Those who enjoy sawing, sanding, and imaginative designing will spend quality time together at FabLab Bayreuth with a visible result: a very personal spooky mobile for their own home.
