With needle, thread, and a lot of imagination to your own keychain
In the sewing machine workshop with Isabell, children aged 8 to 12 discover the creative world of sewing. In a small group, they get to know the sewing machine, try out some basic sewing exercises, and create their own piece to take home.
Creative learning fun at the sewing machine
The two-hour beginner course introduces children to the machine in a child-friendly manner, step by step. The children learn important functions, practice safe handling, and implement their ideas in a self-designed keychain. Thus, the family experience combines practical learning with the joy of creating.
Small group, personal support
With a maximum of four participants, a calm learning atmosphere is created. The intensive support facilitates the initial approach and allows space for questions, personal decisions, and visible success experiences. No prior knowledge is required.
Safety and age-appropriate learning experience
The course content explicitly includes safety rules and the correct handling of the sewing machine. This enhances concentration, fine motor skills, and self-confidence. At the same time, the children experience how fabric, thread, and their own idea turn into a small, self-made product.
Everything for the creative children's project is prepared
Sewing machines and materials are provided on-site. At the end, the children take home their self-designed keychain – a lovely memory of shared time, curiosity, and creative children's laughter.
Conclusion: The sewing machine workshop offers children a safe, child-friendly entry into a fascinating craft. Families can expect a concentrated yet cheerful creative experience at FabLab Bayreuth.
