With a few strokes to your own ideas: Sketch workshop for youth in Bayreuth
A sheet of paper, a pencil, and plenty of curiosity: In the sketch workshop with Kaija, teenagers aged 12 and up discover the basics of drawing. Over five sessions, a creative learning journey unfolds, focusing on collaborative experimentation, observation, and practice.
Learning to draw without performance pressure
The workshop conveys age-appropriate essential basics such as line, shape, and proportion. The teenagers learn to observe objects, figures, and simple motifs attentively and transfer them step by step into their own sketches. No prior knowledge is required – joy in drawing and the willingness to try new things are sufficient.
From faces to free motifs
The content is tailored as much as possible to the participants' interests. Whether flowers, people, animals, or other favorite motifs: Each session offers new drawing exercises and practical impulses. Shadowing, perspective, and observational drawing are also included among the discussed topics.
Creative development in a small group
With a maximum of ten participants, a manageable atmosphere is created where individual questions and personal ideas have space. The learning experience strengthens concentration, perception, and creative expression. At the same time, teenagers experience shared time, children's laughter, and motivating exchanges about their drawn pictures.
Materials and schedule
The necessary drawing materials will be provided on-site. Personal sketchbooks or preferred graphite pencils are welcome to be brought along. The workshop takes place over five Saturdays: on November 14, 21, and 28, as well as December 5 and 12, 2026. Each session runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
A creative family experience with sustainable learning fun
The sketch workshop combines artistic education with practical experience. Teenagers gradually develop confidence in handling shapes and lines while discovering their personal drawing style. Parents receive a child-friendly creative offering that promotes self-confidence, curiosity, and joy in creating.
Conclusion: At FabLab Bayreuth, teenagers aged 12 and up can expect an inspiring drawing course with plenty of room for imagination, fun learning, and personal ideas. Those who want to learn the basics of drawing and develop their own style will experience five creative mornings in a supportive atmosphere.
