T-Box in Bayreuth: Big tinkering adventure for little tech fans

Your own Yahtzee game: Creative workshop at FabLab Bayreuth

Wood, technology, and plenty of tinkering fun await children and teenagers aged 12 and up at the workshop T-Box – Build your own Yahtzee game! At FabLab Bayreuth, participants will create a personal skill and puzzle game from wooden parts and 3D-printed game elements, which they will be able to take home afterward.

Puzzle, build, and get creative

The focus is on an exciting learning experience with a visible outcome: Participants will work on wooden parts, assemble their box, and add perfectly fitted 3D-printed game pieces. This way, the workshop combines traditional woodworking with modern digital manufacturing, making technical processes child-friendly and accessible.

Create something unique with your own hands

As individual components come together step by step to create a functioning T-Box, curiosity, concentration, and joy in DIY grow. The personal Yahtzee game invites later challenges with family and friends. This keeps the family experience alive even after the workshop, ensuring quality time filled with learning fun.

Age-appropriate and safe learning

The workshop is aimed at children and teenagers aged 12 and up. FabLab Bayreuth provides a safe introduction to tools and machines in its technology offerings and creates easy access to modern technology. Prior knowledge is not the focus during practical experimentation.

Insights into modern manufacturing

The T-Box clearly illustrates how a digital template and craftsmanship work together. Teenagers discover how a high-quality workpiece arises from an idea. This connection strengthens technical understanding, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and the joy of independent development.

Conclusion: Take a personal game home

The workshop offers a special family experience for curious children and teenagers aged 12 and up: building, designing, tinkering, and finally holding a self-made Yahtzee game in their hands. Those who want to do more than just watch technology find a creative afternoon filled with children's laughter, concentration, and pride in their own results at FabLab Bayreuth.
