Festive Brass Sounds at the Bayreuth Christmas Market
When the Brass Choir of the City Church performs on December 21, 2026, at the action stage of the Bayreuth Christmas Market, festive church music meets the special live atmosphere of the pre-Christmas season. Amidst market stalls, lights, and the wintery mood of the audience, the brass players set a musical accent in the heart of the city.
Radiant Sound in Advent
The Brass Choir of the City Church is a fixed part of the musical life at the City Church of Bayreuth, regularly shaping services and church events. Under the direction of KMD Michael Dorn, the ensemble combines precise synchronization, festive orchestration, and the characteristic sound of trumpets, horns, trombones, and tuba.
Christmas Live Atmosphere
At the action stage of the Christmas Market, the brass sounds have an immediate effect: The music blends with the chatter of the market, the glow of the stalls, and the winter sounds of Maximilianstraße. The result is a atmospheric concert moment for market visitors, families, and friends of festive music.
Music from the City Church of Bayreuth
The Brass Choir is part of the church music at the City Church of Bayreuth, which also includes the city choir, recorder ensemble, chamber orchestra, and children's choirs. The musical work of the ensemble stands for communal music-making, liturgical experience, and a vibrant connection between the church and the urban community.
A Musical Moment to Pause
The concert on the city floor offers an opportunity to briefly leave behind the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle. Warm brass tones, clear melody lines, and the open atmosphere of the marketplace create a festive concert experience in the open air.
Those who visit Bayreuth during the Advent season will experience a brief, intense musical moment with the Brass Choir of the City Church right in the Christmas Market. Come to the action stage and experience the festive stage performance live.
