Franconian Christmas in Hollfeld: Reflective Sounds and Franconian Dialect
On Sunday, December 20, 2026, the Heimat- und Volkstrachtenverein Alt Bayreuth, together with the brass group Wiesenttaler Blech, invites you to the traditional Franconian Christmas at St. Salvator Church in Hollfeld. Starting at 4:00 PM, festive brass music combines with regional traditions and a Christmas story in Franconian dialect.
Festive Sound in St. Salvator Church
The historic church atmosphere provides a resonant setting for the musical accompaniment. The Sing- und Musikgruppe Alt Bayreuth and the brass ensemble Wiesenttaler Blech present a program that combines warm brass sounds, traditional Christmas melodies, and Franconian tonal colors.
Christmas Story with Regional Character
Markus Kratzer reads the Christmas story in Franconian dialect according to Hans Mehl from Nuremberg. Between familiar melodies and spoken word, a concert experience arises that places the regional identity of the Franconian Switzerland in the foreground.
Pausing Together and Experiencing Christmas
The event is aimed at families, adults, teenagers, and older visitors. Seating and space for strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs are available. The church is accessible to blind and visually impaired people and fully accessible with assistance.
Conclusion: Advent Atmosphere with Free Admission
The Franconian Christmas in Hollfeld promises an atmospheric mix of brass music, singing, dialect, and living traditions. Admission is free; donations for the upkeep of the church are gladly accepted. Those wishing to experience the Advent season with regional music and a true live atmosphere will find a special place of encounter at St. Salvator Church.
