Advent Service with Music, Prayer, and Community
As the days grow shorter, the ecumenical service in the Ecological-Botanical Garden opens a space for reflection, hope, and joint prayer. On Tuesday, December 1, 2026, the Christian student communities KHG and ESG invite people of all faiths to a special religious experience with the Swahili Choir Bayreuth.
Spiritual Atmosphere in the Ecological-Botanical Garden
The service takes place at 7 PM in the exhibition room of the Ecological-Botanical Garden at the University of Bayreuth. Between the special atmosphere of the garden and the Advent impulses, a place of tranquility is created where liturgical elements, prayer, and shared pauses are interconnected.
Advent Music and Ecumenical Connection
The Swahili Choir Bayreuth will musically shape the service. African-influenced songs give the evening a lively, warm, and community-oriented tone. The musical presentation opens the view to the diversity of Christian spirituality and connects people across cultural and confessional boundaries.
Community Beyond the Universities
The event is organized by the faith communities of students at the University of Bayreuth, particularly by KHG and ESG. The ecumenical orientation invites students, community members, families, and all interested parties to experience Advent as a time of hope, prayer, and mutual attention.
Conclusion by the Fire
After the service, the evening concludes outside by the fire with punch and gingerbread. Warm and weatherproof clothing is recommended for this communal closing.
The ecumenical Advent service connects religious experience, choir music, and encounters in a special environment. Those who wish to consciously begin the Advent season and experience an open spiritual community will find an inviting place in the Ecological-Botanical Garden.
