Great Opera with Verdi, Wagner, International Soloists, Choir, and Orchestra

The Verdi-Wagner Opera Gala invites you to a special opera evening at the Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth on October 17, 2026. The focus is on excerpts from the works of two significant composers in opera history: Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner.

The program thus connects two musical worlds that continue to shape the international opera repertoire to this day. Verdi's dramatic sound language meets Wagner's characteristic musical stage works. The gala offers a concentrated insight into selected excerpts and is aimed at all those who wish to experience great opera in an extraordinary historical setting.

International Participants

On stage and in the concert hall, international soloists will perform together with a choir and orchestra. The interplay of voices and the orchestral sound body is at the center of the evening. This creates a festive concert evening that highlights the well-known works of Verdi and Wagner.

The venue is the Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth. This historic opera house provides the suitable framework for a gala dedicated entirely to the world of classical opera. Visitors can look forward to a diverse program featuring musical highlights from the works of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner.
